Survivor: Cagayan has a winner.

Police officer Tony Vlachos has been named season 28's "Sole Survivor" and takes home the $1 million prize. The winner was announced during Wednesday night's live finale at the CBS lot in Studio City, Calif.

He beat out martial arts instructor Woo Hwang for the win, with the show going to the final two format for the first time in several seasons.
This season started out with 18 castaways who were divided into three tribes: brains vs. beauty vs. brawn.

Going into the finale, host Jeff Probst told The Hollywood Reporter that any of the finalists could make a strong case for themselves.

"I could make an argument for anyone to win," he said, adding: "It comes down to who you're sitting next to more than ever this year."

Also during the live finale, Probst revealed that next season -- the show's 29th -- would be a second "Blood vs. Water' installment and film in San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua.
