Toyota Announces Pricing for All-New 2012 Camry and Camry Hybrid:
August 23, 2011 Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), USA, Inc. today announced manufacturer's retail price (MSRP) for the proposed new seventh generation Camry, America's best-selling car nine years in a row and 13 of the last 14 years. The Camry remains an excellent value all popular models as either a fall or remain the same compared with the previous generation Camry models. The 2012 Camry and Camry Hybrid debut a powerful, advanced new design with a spacious interior, leading safety features, improved handling and a quieter ride than before.
"Despite all the improvements of the new Camry, the prices on all popular models are less dramatic repositioning on SE, XLE and Hybrid models, offering the best value in the segment," said Bob Carter, Toyota group vice president and general manager. "Competing in the most competitive segment of the industry, we expect the Camry to continue as America's best-selling car."
The all-new Toyota Camry is powered by a revised 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine equipped with Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), less noise and vibration produces 178 horsepower and features, up nine horsepower, and 170 lbs-ft. of torque. Fuel consumption is also improved with EPA estimated mpg ratings of 25 city/35 hwy/28 combined. All four-cylinder models are linked to six-speed automatic transmissions.
For those looking for more power, 24-valve, DOHC 3.5-liter V6, the Dual VVT-i service is available in the SE and XLE models. The V6 produces 268 horsepower and 248 lbs.-ft. of torque and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift and has EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings of 21 city/30 hwy/25 combined.
All 2012 Camrys are equipped with an industry-leading 10 standard airbags, and like all Toyota models, the Camry, Toyota's Star Safety System ™ standard, the Vehicle Stability Control includes (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Braking Function System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist.
