Mark Sanchez on Cover of GQ

New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez was fighting "evil as coach Rex Ryan considered benching him last season.
Sanchez told GQ magazine for a story in the September issue that he was angry when Ryan told reporters that he would think about him in December last year after a poor performance.
"I wanted to fight him," Sanchez told the magazine. "I was really mad."
Ryan wanted to backup Mark Brunell to give more snaps during practice after Sanchez struggled in a loss to Miami. After the agreement, Sanchez told the magazine he pushed Brunell away when he walked into the Huddle.
Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer when he reminded Ryan Brunell wanted to take snapshots, Sanchez snapped.
"I was like," he can come tell me, "Sanchez said." And (Schottenheimer) is like "C'mon man, do not."
Sanchez stayed in the lineup and led the Jets to the AFC championship game for the second consecutive year. Sanchez said he and his coach have not joked about the benching remarks, and he does not expect they will.
"Rex is very honest," said Sanchez. "I wish he was not honest at times, in particular to say."
Sanchez played the entire first quarter of the Jets' 20-16 loss to the Texans in Houston on Monday night. He was six out of seven for 43 yards.
